Coaching Staff Winter Session 2021
Andy Murray - Head Coach
Head Coach for the Owosso Girls Varsity Swim team. Head Coach for the Owosso Middle School swim team. Swam the breaststroke and IM, 2 daughters swim for Sea Lions, does triathlons and ultramarathons.
Peter Sperry - Assistant Coach
Head Coach for the Redwings Boys Varsity team. Swam for St. Johns, enjoys playing volleyball and broke his finger the last time he played.
Tess Burnash - Assistant Coach
A four year swimmer for the Redwings, she was a state qualifier from 2015 - 2018 and was named Captain her senior year. Her favorite part of coaching is watching the kids work so hard towards a goal and the surprise and joy they have after achieving it.
Madelyn Irelan - Assistant Coach
Swam sprint free and fly. Swam at Northern Michigan University and was an All American, enjoys reading in her free time.
Nick Bishop - Assistant Coach
Swam the 200 and 500, has done several Olympic triathlons. Nick is a former Sea Lion as well.
Mike Boettger - Assistant Coach
Swam sprint free and fly. Swam at Wayne State University
Marinna Makara - Assistant Coach
S.wam for 13 years, swam breaststroke, enjoys swimming and hiking.
Junior Coaches
Koy Grams - Redwing Junior. Enjoys swimming breastroke and his younger brother is also a Sea Lion.
Shane VanAbel - Redwing Junior. Swims the IM and 200 free, enjoys spending time with friends and playing music.
Emma Hamelink - Redwing Senior, four year swimmer.
Ella Schafer - Redwing Freshman. Swims all strokes and has been swimming since she was 6. She hopes to swim or coach at a professional level.
Lily Howell - Redwing Freshman. Swims for St. Johns and was a Fred Myer Award Winner when swimming for the Sea Lions.
Katerina Schaeffer - Swims breaststroke and IM, is a freshman at St. Johns and qualified for the State Finals this year
Lifeguards
Laney Voisinet - Redwing Junior.Was part of the State free relay that took 14th place.
